After months of preparations we have now decided to announce the
plan to fly Europa N81EU around the world in the years 2ooo & 2oo1.
N81EU is a classic Europa Trigear fitted with a Rotax 912 and
Warpdrive Prop - a result of our determination to keep everything
as simple and failproof as possible.
The flight will have three basic legs:
(1) Bonn ~ Oshkosh: Departure is set for July 21st with an arrival
during the early Oshkosh days (July 27). The routing will be
the classic island hop via Iceland, Greenland and Canada.
I'll fly solo with extended fuel tanks aboard.
(2) Oshkosh ~ Ulan Bator: This flight will follow approx. the
reverse course of Michel Gordillo's Flight "Madrid to Oshkosh"
in 1999, e.g. Canada, Alaska, Bering Strait, Russia and then
into Mongolia.
(3) Ulan Bator ~ Bonn: In July of 2oo1 the circle around the world
will be closed with a flight over Russia back to Germany after
spending Autumn and winter in Mongolia.

I am looking for people who would like to join part of the trip and
for others who might be able to help out with the Internet update.
I'll have HF-Radio aboard and would welcome any Ham operators to
monitor the process of the flight in realtime.
How about some more Europas to fly the Atlantic ? I know she can
do it.
