True, but for carriage purposes they class it a 'hazardous material'.  They 
quoted
me over $300 for carriage to the UK of a small quantity of alodine and some
System 3 primer.

In the UK an alodine-type material (not sure what name is whose trademark) and
the associated etch-primer, etc. is sold at a sensible price by the Poly-Fiber
agent, Aircraft Coverings as part of the P-F range of materials.  Is there a
P-F agent in France ?
