Control stiffness or not as the case may be (part2)

By the time you get the wing pins in place the cockpit module seems to be
well braced!

I found that the module is so light in comparison to the wings that the spar
crossover and pins provide really good support for the back of the module.
The support at the front is now just there for aligning the module to the
wing incidence. With the module supported like that and not being distorted
by an additional rear support I have good freedom of movement.

Like most of the "complicated" build sessions on this aircraft I am finding
that you spend a week worrying about how you are going to do the job and then
once you actually get on with it the actual task proves simpler than you
imagined.

I removed by pitch torque tube bearing support inserts last night ready for
the torque tube mod. It takes a _lot_ of heat to get those things out but the
padding resin finally succumbed - I set every smoke detector in the house off
in the process though!!
