There are plenty of LED lamps now of various colours with build-in resistors e.g. for direct 12v input. In UK see RS catalogue. Just occasionally you don't want a low current lamp. I have a tone-burst generator for undercarriage warning which is shorted out when the gear is down. It is fed through a green lamp which illuminates when the gear is down - but if it were an LED there wouldn't be enough current to actuate the tone in the gear up position. Graham C. G-EMIN |
