One man rigging

Here is G-EMIN's system. It has three elements.

1. The rectangular spar sockets on the (standard) trailer have been sawn off
and remounted on a cylindrical posts which drop into the vertical square
sections they came from. The top of the post carries a hinge allowing the
socket to rotate to the vertical position.
This change allows the wing to be rotated outwards from the trailer, and then
to the horizontal, all by holding the tip alone.

2) The tip is then deposited onto a wing-tip trolley which is high enough to
allow the outrigger to drop down. The rigger than goes to the spar end,
removes it fully from the trailer socket and manoevres it into the fuselage.
The trolley folds flat for boot transport.

3) Permanent guides are provided both on the cockpit rear for the port spar,
and in both fuselage apertures to ensure correct height of the spar root. A
wooden guide is temporarily inserted into the starboard side which has a
tapered wedge for ensuring the port spar end goes into the cup without
fouling the trailing edge. This is then removed to allow the starboard wing
insertion.

Any system must clearly be made accurate enough to allow pin insertion
without anyone waggling the bits to qualify for single rigging. This is not
easy to achieve in my experience, though plenty of taper on the pins clearly
helps.

The trailer socket change also means that they can be lifted out an inserted
into stands or wall brackets for storage of the wings away from the trailer.
