I have run them through polythene ? spiral (really helical!) sheathing made
for covering circuit wiring.  It has the great advantage that you can wind on
as much as you like without disconnecting the cables.  i.e. can change the
length, replace, even lubricate in place, thought the latter doesn't seem
necessaary. Existing front displacement block and rear pulley is retained,
 and the covering is expoxied to the tunnel wall every foot or so, and just
penetrates the fuel pump bulkhead.  The front six inches "floats" to
distribute the main deflection tension.  Has withstood some fearsome booting
due to my still believing I have toe-brakes  ! - old habits die hard. ATS.
