Can't we just connect a braided earth lead to the tank filler and drop it down
the inlet pipe for a couple of feet? Then simply connect the bowser earthing
lead to the filler. Or indeed since most of us fill our tanks from cans, drop
another earthing braid into the can before opening the filler.
I must confess I'm beginning to feel nervous about the issue.
