Hello Everyone !

A question to the builders further on than me (not difficult <g> ).

It's relates to the bonding of the two tailplane halves TP1 and TP2 or more
specifically, the use of flox to fill the space around the rib.

I have just had my tailplane outboard ribs signed off so I spent this afternoon
preparing for the joining of TP1 and TP2.

As I was sanding I realised that at the leading edge there will be nothing but
fresh air to support the flox filler, as I will by then have cut the jig back
5cm. However, the layup at the leading edge has to wrap around by 2cm. I am
worried that it will be difficult to prevent the flox misforming at the leading
edge, resulting in a dint or bubble. I imagine the viscosity of the flox is
especially important at this stage.

How did it turn out for builders past this point ?

BTW

A small tip to ensure a snug fit between TP1 and TP2 while sanding to allow for
the plywood rib reinforcement is to mount TP2 back on the support you used for
the rib layup. Then place TP1 in position, ( ie vertically). By looking at a
light "through the join", it is very easy to see the small peaks of foam you
still need to remove.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
