Hi Tony Sounds familiar - my 914 can be tricky to start when hot too ( - but only when people are looking, hmmmm.) Have noticed that you really have to be stingy with the throttle - and no choke. Bet

Check your bowden-cable between TCU/Wastegate..... Special attention arround exhaust-area. Have had the same problem and that was caused to a hot-spot on the backside of the bowden where it was route
