Frans .....Looks like this thread is slowed (for now). Its just a matter of looking for the best way to do things. I think we all strive for that, while building our Europa. Regards, Greg Fuchs XS TR
Yes, I believe you are right here, except for shortwave. My goof. My punishment is banishment to the dungeon, with only a little daylight through a small window, for a few days while I do some more r
Nice Craig! It would be interesting to set up a bunch of different style antennas and compare them all, with the same feed line and radio. Not too much matter if they all work adequately. Let us know
Nice job, Richard. Now you can enjoy all of the spoils. Also, I noticed Raimo Toivio's Europa is in the current Kitplanes Magazine. Congrats to both of you, Greg Fuchs Richard, congratulations! .. Ra
First place I would look would be the large capacitor connected right next to the regulator. Make sure it has the same capacity and/or is not open. A bad cap might affect the regulator output. Greg F
presently 133.0 I might bxxxxx it up compleyely! Dave, Unless I am suffering from temporary dyslexia, I think you would need to lengthen your antenna at this point, to get the SWR reading to come do
CAPACITOR CONNECTED TO THE REGULATOR! and run the engine (preferably with all avionics switched off) and measure the voltage across the capacitor. Jeff, These are good points from Frans. Just an add
Ok, I assumed it was similar to most motorcycle regulators. Hence the problems of disconnecting the battery and all loads while the regulator is operating does not exist. Otherwise, I do not have exp
Jeff, Checking the suggesting wiring scheme for the Rotax installation in the Europa manual, it shows two 30A slow-blow fuses between the battery and the R-B-C connection on the regulator. One on eit
Fred, Very nice. I seem to remember a LOT of helpful emails coming from a certain person with the same name as yours! It is great to have a wealth of skilled people from all walks of life and capabil
Jeff, An output of 12.5V from the regulator will certainly keep the battery in a low state of charge(84% or below). This (sort of) falls in line with what you are seeing with the battery state of cha
Congratulations Frans and Ilona! Enjoy the spoils of all your hard labor. Now even the sky is not the limit! -Greg Fuchs A050 Hi everyone! Today, at 12:25 LT on EHHO, PH-DIY made his first flight. Il
Jeff, I see that your bird is in the air again. On behalf of those in the group that may have the same problem in the future, or are just curious, what was the solution that you found pertaining to y
Hi Tony, Because of the high currents needed from the rear battery, one could substitute the relay with a solenoid of high amperage. Since it might be hard to find a non-expensive relay to do the sam
Just keep it simple. Of course you have to attach a red "for emergency use only" label to the rope and brief your passengers not to pull on it while asking "what is this for" when your are circling h
For God sakes, yes!! ought to be good enough for an Europa. I like the idea >of ripping the fuel tank on final, and getting all gas out before "touching" the landing spot. "ATC, we have a problem...
Well thought out Tony. I like the lesson that teaches one to jump quickly, and without feint of heart. I hope your beer and soccer mixed ok ;). I tried to mix running and beer one time, thinking that
Hi all, My question pertains to which surfaces are covered for strengthening, in the baggage bay. After searching the list, no answer was found. It makes me wonder what it is, I am not seeing. A) '2
Maybe I should rephrase my question. Instead of what the manual is saying, what did people actually do with the uni? Is it really meant to be only on the rear bulkhead only, with no overlapping onto
Craig, So uni is only on the rear 'face' of the gear well. Suprising it doesn't lap onto the sides at all. Since you were able to make it work, I think I will go the non-cut route then, for the glass
