It is the 914 engine. There is a several second delay before the oil pressure reads, then it looks completely normal, until after a few minutes it heads down slowly and steadily. I am not really sure

That is one possibility - a bad sensor. I will be keeping a close eye on this to see of there is any pattern for the problem. Dave
