Depending on your engine, you can put either a 40 amp belt driven or a 20 amp vacuum pad driven alternator. The more amps the better as far as I am concerned, but the 914 will not take the 40 amp alt

Question, There isn't a 28 volt option on the Rotax engine, is there? I assumed this, but 28 volts would allow much more equipment and I see the B&C alternator is available in 28 volts. Probably too

It is my impression that the advantage of the alternator is good output at lower RPM. I have a PA30 with generator and they will not produce power at idle, where an alternator at the same RPM will --

Hi, I am looking at EFIS myself, but have ruled out EFIS one due to the single point failure of the display. Should it quit - all the information about flight and engine are gone. I like it, but....
