I have just received a Kannad 406 Compact ELT which came with the AV-200 whip
antenna.
I was originally hoping to just screw the ELT down and use a whip attached
directly to the unit. However, l wondered if anyone had fitted a remote
whip inside their aircraft? The AV-200 comes with a small ground plane plate,
so l guess a fin LE installation may be possible (using a 2-3m cable to the
ELT head unit). Any feedback or advise on the installation is welcome. An
external
antenna is an option but the new Sky4Covers l just paid for will then need
to be modified!
