It has been recommended to me by an experienced Europa pilot to install a roll trim tab (electric servo) in the port side aileron. I understand from MAC (now Ray Allen Company) that several Europa bu

This is a fairly easy mod to make. You need the MAC S9 servo which is the smallest one they make. The S9 servo comes with details of how to make a Lancair trim tab which uses a piece of hinge on the

Talk also to Jim Thursby at Lakeland. He did the aileron section method. Apparently about a 2"x9" tab is the right size. Jim used the base flange of the S9 servo as the plate - there's precious littl

Roll trim is a definate plus as the trim changes with passenger load. I hear the MAC unit works well but a different method is to use a model airplane servo and driver. (I'm always a bit different!)

The Europa is definitely sensitive to loading as related to roll trim. I considered putting in a trim tab when I was building, but decided not to when I decided to put in the Navaid autopilot. The Na

I have been having problems with the gas struts on the doors. The doors fit perfectly till I put the gas struts in. The upper aft corner of the doors wants to rise up. Is that being "proud"? I think

I just discovered why I had to fill behind my port door but not the starboard.... I fitted the hinge together so the two flats were on opposite sides on the back hinge on the port side. It wasn't unt

The gas struts are a pain, literally. The sockets tend to slip off the balls in hot weather too. Has anyone found an alternative? e.g. the like the "ratchet" stays that were once used on car bonnets
