Does anyone else have problems getting the wings on? I am exhausted from an hour of struggling with the wings. Plane is close to flying, has been taxied several times and all seems fine. One problem
My experience with the swivel bearing has been that when pushed fully into the housing and only able to swivel 5 degrees it was much harder to get the wing on. I was told the bearing needed to swivel
I finally got the inserting of the wings worked out. What helped a lot was replacing the flap pins with ones that are one inch longer and tapered down to 1/4 inch. Had a machinist friend turn.them. N
I did mine that way and have just tried to fill the tank. It blew gas out the single vent on top of the fuselage at about 12 gallons. The tank was not full(according to the visual tube by the seat).
I am in Knoxville, Tennessee and looking for purchase or rent of a trailer. Is there one within 400 miles? Ken Carpenter A123 N9XS -- Original Message -- From: "Richard Holder" <rholder@avnet.co.uk>
I am about where you are on the project. I am taxiing up and down ready to fly when the FAA gets here to sign it off. It is likely they will not let me fly from the field it is not located. I also ha
Have had first, second and third flight, each about forty-five minutes. It is a thrill to start down the runway and have it lift off. Even bigger thrill to have a good landing upon return. I had been
Just did my 25 hour service and am at 31 hours. Overheating problem may need to change the oil radiator to lower position. Have you done that? I changed the air dam under the oil radiator to a forwar
just wondering...how many are flying? Anyone going to Oshkosh? My overheating problem is apparently solved and I am thinking about it. Still have ten more hours to fly, but that should not be difficu
It is a 914. Think the problem mostly solved by moving the air dam forward under the coolant radiator instead of the oil radiator. I watch it for a while and may need to lower the oil radiator but fo
has anyone with a 914 experienced the engine running rough at 7000'? I was up today and when bringing the turbo in by 35" manifold pressure, the engine ran a bit rough. It smoothed out when throttled
My capacitance gauge is under the right headrest. does not matter which side because when you set the scale, you first put 2 1/2 gallon in the tank and call that "zero" and go from there. I would not
I sure wish someone had a solution for the 914 overheating. I have lowered the oil cooler and moved it back one inch from the water radiator. The oil runs cool(under200) so I put an air dam half way
I had trouble one time and let it sit for five minutes and it started with the throttle open about one inch(no choke). I have occasionally used the choke when hot but find it not necessary most times
I am adding TCP to 100LL. It is approved by Rotax and Lookwood says it is ok also. It seem to really help but I still use auto gas when I can(about half the time). Ken Carpenter N9XS -- Original Mess
I notice more fuel odor with auto gas. Am told it is the rubber hoses let the auto fuel additives through. Someone else told me it is just a matter that the 100LL additives are not as smelly but stil
