I believe Jerry is correct regarding the 3 blader being better at low speeds. I went through this in college for my Aero. Eng. degree. It's all in the math, and the difference is fairly significant,

Good point, as from the Cessna and Piper ones I've seen, I could see where if the seal got a little dry or cracked, the water would just run into the tanks by the bucketful. I've seen better gas caps
