Unless I am mistaken, you will find that the build manual includes a return
spring extension arm as standard on the LHS.

I had similar issue on mine, I just went and bought a slightly shorter
higher rated spring set,
mind you I also have the turn buckle adjustment in the cables near the
rudder for the tail wheel mod,
so it made fixing the length easy.

Hi guys, I'm installing the starboard return spring & there clearly is'nt
enough 'footwell' to mount the spring under any tension. Is it ok to fit a
small extension piece ( 1/2 in aluminium?) to extend the spring approx 3 in
into the engine bay space? is there a 'mod' for this? Thanx for your help
